Who Are We?

Tails Around Town Pet Sitting, LLC is a full-service in-home pet sitting company. The Pet Care Professionals employed by us travel to our client’s homes to perform the pet sitting duties outlined by our customers.

Our clients are located primarily in Florence, SC. However, we also service the surrounding areas when coverage is available.

What Jobs Are Available?

Dog Walkers- Pet Professionals who visit their assigned client’s homes up to 9+ visits per week to walk dogs while the owners are out of town or at work. Midday Dog Walkers should be available Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm. Your schedule may vary from day to day. We will not be able to consider those who are only available a few days per week or for only certain hours of the 9 am-5 pm requirement.

Pet Sitters- Pet Professionals who visit their assigned client’s homes 1-4 times a day to feed and/or care for their pets. These are our non-walking visits and Pet Sitters should be available anytime between 7 am-9:30 pm.

Overnight, In-Home Pet Service- Pet Professionals that spend the night in our client’s homes. Must be available for a dinner visit, overnight stay, and morning visit before departure. These visits are sometimes scheduled with a mid-day visit.

Pet Sitters & House (Overnight) Sitters must be work at least (2) weekends per month and either Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter AND either Memorial Day or Labor Day. As Pet Sitter’s visit homes multiple times during the day, the individual needs to be available for a variety of times throughout the day. Some clients book early morning and/or twilight services as well.

Sitters can be classified as one position or a combination of each position. This is based on your availability and what services you are interested in offering our clients.

EMPLOYEE REQUIREMENTS:

INDIVIDUALS MUST-

Live in our service area. See the “Zip Codes Serviced” above. If you do not live in an area we service, we will not process your application.

Be physically fit and able to work and commute in all types of weather. This is a very active position that requires hours of energy, even on rainy, snowy, hot, and humid days.

Have access to a reliable vehicle, have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Have experience with, a love of, and a desire to work with dogs, cats, pocket pets, and other small animals.

Love people in addition to animals. This is just as much a customer service position as it is a pet care position.

Be 100% reliable. Tails Around Town sitters do their best to cover in cases of emergencies, but this is not a job where “calling out sick” is tolerated, as the pets in your care depend on you.

Have the ability to communicate effectively with Tails Around Town management, fellow employees and clients, by returning emails, phone calls, and text messages promptly.

Have the ability to take this job SERIOUSLY. Emergencies can happen and it’s not always rainbows and unicorns.

Be organized and detailed oriented.

Be able to provide professional references.

Provide a current and clean background check to Tails Around Town. We will provide you with the link to have your background check completed. The cost is paid for by you, which will be reimbursed to you after you fulfill your 6-month commitment.

Complete Pet CPR & First Aid Certification & Any Additional Education and/or training.

COMPENSATION/PAYCHECKS AND TAXES:

Your compensation is based on an hourly rate from training through each block of services you perform. Visit lengths range from 15-60 minutes for Pet Sitting and Dog Walking. Rates for Overnight/House Sitting are higher, due to the extended stay.

All employees are subject to taxes on earnings. All deductions required by law and all authorized, permissible deductions will be automatically withheld from employees’ paychecks. In other words, this job does not pay “under the table” and all monies earned will be taxed. You will be notified in your job offer, should you receive one, when your schedule for payment will be.

LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP:

Tails Around Town is only interested in working with Pet Professionals who want to build a long-term relationship with our company, our clients’ the pets in our care. It is NOT a good position for those trying to find interim work while in-between jobs or trying to “figure out” what their next step is. Our clients come to trust their assigned sitter with Tails Around Town and appreciate it when they’re able to grow a trusted relationship with that person.

Tails Around Town reserves the right to have employees that are only providing pet sitting and dog walking services to our company. We do not have sitters on our team that have their own service or currently work for another service. We do not hire individuals that work for Rover, Sittercity, and other online companies. The more availability you have, the more business we can assign to you and the more money you can earn!
