Hello and Thank You for your interest in Tails Around Town Pet Sitting!
My name is Kelly Harrell and I was put on earth to help pets and their owners!! I have had pets around me all my life, including Rusty who pulled the towels off the clothesline to Candy, who was my favorite childhood pet and taught me all about being grown-up when you lose the closest and dearest thing to you.
I have been pet-sitting officially since 2003 and un-officially all of my life. I've seen all situations that you can and cannot imagine! I've had some sad experiences and some comical ones. They are all as unique as the pets themselves. The only downside is coming home to pouting animals. Hey mom, are you bringing us someone else to play with? Not today...just sniff and enjoy!
Now for some history: I was a groomer's assistant for 7 years and worked (most recently) as a veterinary assistant, preparing dog and cats for surgery and caring for them afterward. I have lots of personal experience as well. My own dog, Finley (German short-haired (aka shedder) Pointer), was spayed and only through this surgery (and 6 others) was she saved from death as a pup. Of course then there is Molly, the too old to count beagle, who my vet performed a removal of the spleen (his first one ever!) and she is happier and as active as can be.
I was always solely a "dog person" (and still am), until I met my cat. Harpo is a cuddler and a drooler, all in one.
I would love to meet your pets and form a bond with all of the family. I treat your pets as if they were my own.
